| Create Your Future in Words and Pictures In order to change our lives we need to change the way we think we think and feel about ourselves and the lives we lead. If you are not living the life you desire and focus on the lack in your life, you will remain exactly where you are. If however you focus on the life you would like to have and feel the feelings you would experience when you live that life, you will vibrationally draw to you, that life experience. Positive affirmations are a wonderful tool to start feeling good about yourself. They are simple statements that plant positive seeds of thoughts in your mind. Often beginning with ‘I am…’ they state how you want to be or what you want to have: eg ‘I am a wildly, wealthy women’ or ‘I am enjoying the thrill of success’ or ‘I am the most powerful person in my life and I am creating the life I deserve’. It’s important to know that it’s not the words that will bring the experience but the feelings associated with the affirmation being true. When you first start to say them, you may feel silly but if you say an affirmation often enough and focus on the feelings associated with what you are affirming, you will feel positive emotions and belief in your statement. Write them down, say them often and feel them into existence. Another great tool to help you achieve your desires are vision boards. They are simply posters filled with pictures of the things you desire. Your board may have pictures of your ideal body shape, your dream holiday destination, beautiful jewellery, your dream house. The pictures can be collected from magazines, brochures, the internet etc. Simply arrange the photos on your board and position it where you will look at often – some people put them in the bathroom so they can look at them each morning and night as they brush their teeth. Just like the affirmations, you need to feel the feelings of having that gorgeous diamond ring, driving that brand new sports car etc as you look at your vision board. Vision boards are fun to create and children in particular, enjoy creating their dream life in pictures. Unlike adults, children don’t limit their dreams with doubts about if or how it can be achieved. Kids love to dream big so be a big kid for a few hours and have fun dreaming with pictures. Recently I came across a great new concept that combines affirmations and vision boards to create a very powerful visualisation tool using mini-movies. These are a very powerful tool to help you visualise the life you dream about as they combine images with written words and music to help you visualise your dreams. By seeing the pictures of what you what you will find it much easier to feel the feelings of having what you desire. Common themes for these mini-movies are often attracting a partner, relationships with family & friends, wealth, health, and spirituality. Generally only about about 3 minutes in duration, you will get the best results if you watch at least one every morning and night – that’s only 6 minutes a day. A good idea is to watch a movie when you start up your computer each morning and just before I turn it off at the end of your working day and you’ll find that the 6 minutes whizzes by. Apparently we only need to focus on our desires for less than a minute to start to change our vibrational attraction, so 6 minutes is a power boost for attracting our desires! Regardless of the tools you use, the essential ingredient is to associate the feeling of having already achieved your desire as you say the affirmation or visual your desired state. Your thoughts together with your feelings will create the things you desire so by feeling the emotions you would when you have achieved that desire you will succeed. |
