This is anything but true. Always make sure that all your blogs or sites have reciprocal links pointing back at them. But make sure these links come from quality sites. Failing to obtain Low Page Rank links: Most web masters stay away from Page Rank 0 sites. This is absolutely absurd! What they do not understand is that in no time at all, these PR 0 sites can turn into PR 5 sites. Don’t bother about who links to your site, as long as the links come from quality sites. If the sites have any amount of authority, then grab them. Failing to send out links: If you want your site to look natural with the search engines, then you should link out. All authority sites link out with other authority sites. Search engines WANT to see this. You’ll definitely witness a boost in your SERP’s if you link to a higher authority site. Failing to check your linking partners site: Once you are done exchanging links with someone else, make sure you check their site on a regular basis, and always check to see whether the link back to your site is visible. Some sites go down, domains expire, accounts close or are simply purchased by someone else. Many web masters keep changing topics and will take your link down after the exchange has been made. So monitor your partners carefully. Not using anchor texts in your links: If you get the opportunity to use anchor texts in your links, then grab it! Anchor texts in a back link are one of the biggest ranking factors in SEO. Not covering up your paid link marks: People will always sell links. And the search engines will always hunt for paid links. And, you’ll always see blogs and websites get banned or de-indexed for selling links. So, if you are going to buy or sell links, then make sure you do it carefully. Not building links: Most people don’t know how to build links or how to get started. Most people don’t even try to build links. But you must remember that it’s not exactly rocket science. Stay away from the above mentioned mistakes and you should do well in the search engines!
