Reborn Babies - Unreal, Yet So Real Babies |

| I Guess you have heard of reborn babies. They seemed to appear like true babies but aren�t. Because of the life like attribute of these reborn babies they have been mistaken for real babies. In July 2008 - Queensland, Australia, there was a report that a police officer shattered a car window to save what seemed to be like an lifeless baby but later on found out that it was merely a reborn baby. The police officer said that the doll was "extraordinarily lifelike�. The people who saw the event were also anxious for the baby because they too believed that it was really a true one. Unreal, yet so lifelike! You probably have seen few of these reborn dolls in malls, fashion shops, or in the streets were they are being carried by mothers or placed in strollers as if they are real ones. They are also placed in cars putting seatbelts on them so they can be shielded from any unpleasant incident. A number of older women clothe the dolls and wash their hair. Obviously, these reborn baby dolls are well treated and are well attended for as if they are real infants - real babies. Most of reborn baby owners are merely doll collectors. While quite a few used these dolls to take the place of a child they once lost or have already grown up kids and miss their kid�s childhood. And some might have went through miscarriages and could not afford adoption. Consequently they adopt reborn babies instead. Adopting a reborn baby has stirred up social and psychological issues. Studies suggest huging a baby causes a release of hormones which generate a sense of emotional well-being With that, some psychologists deem this may happen with life-like dolls as well. So holding reborn babys may create what is called as cuddle therapy. Holding reborn dolls may aid grieving grandparents to cheer them of their loneliness. Still, many child bereavement experts warn parents against substituting their deceased child with dolls. Reborn babies should only denote a step to the mourning process and that parents ought not be totally attached to their reborn as it could denote their grief is not geting treated at all. |
