| First and foremost, every industry ought to adopt certain safety practices and procedures. This in turn, reflects the organization's approach to controlling various hazards. Did you know that OSHA has established certain occupational safety regulations that basically require employers to have hand-written instructions and procedures? But the degree of detail primarily depends on the range of work activities each company performs. However, it is extremely important that the supervisory department and the management team are involved in every step of the safe work practices. Furthermore, they also need to make sure that adequate training is provided for each and every employee and worker of the organization. Be it a sweeper, a sanitary cleaner or a manager, every employee of the company must be trained, irrespective of the positions they hold. For instance, if there happened to be a chemical outbreak in your industry, would you only try to save the key members of your company? If you do in fact have a conscious, then your organization must employ certain safe work practices and procedures. Safe work practices are generally defined as, “written methods outlining how to perform a task with minimum risk to people, materials, equipment, environment, and processes”. Moreover, these practices should closely reflect the most common activities. Lastly, all safe work procedures and practices should be kept at a central location and it must be readily available to the work force. The human body and spirit is at its healthiest and happiest when it is moving. Thus, one must avoid working in the same position for long periods of time. Present below is a list of some example of safe work practices and procedures. Remember that these practices should aim to minimize the risk of injury and maximize comfort. If the practices employed, fail to do so, then you will be left with a bunch of badly wounded, dejected souls, who will simply be unproductive in every way possible. 1.Firstly, every worker must be given regular breaks, from their work station. 2.Next, tasks must be rotated, in order to eliminate boredom. 3.Workers must be encouraged to change their position frequently. 4.Workers and employees must remain hydrated at all times. 5.Avoid any repetitive work, postures and movements. 6.Always wear the most appropriate type of PPE. Generally construction workers are advised to wear hard hats. On the whole, a safe work practice is nothing else, but common sense. So use the logic and sense that you were born with.
