| Speech and expression papers are used to prepare speeches which present certain expressions that were originally missing in other speeches. The main goal and objective of expression papers is to inform the audience of certain aspects of life tat could actually be new to them. Hence the role played by informative speech is solely providing ideas which were originally not known and that which is necessary to make decisions that are paramount to the daily lives of the audience. The informative speech is written according to various styles which could either be argumentative or persuasive such that by the speaker expressing their feelings regarding the topic or issue, the audience will adopt one side of the debate. Hence the speaker has to avail the details or information through the informative speech first before presenting the audience with the option of having to make a decision of their stand in the whole issue. Without the informative speech the speaker will not make the intended impact or attain the mission of the informative speech. Therefore, when preparing the informative speech various elements have to be put in mind to ensure that the speaker or student who will be reading the informative speech is able to create an impact on the audience. An informative speech has to contain neutral information and content that is not prejudiced towards a certain side. This is because the speech does not need to provide a positive or negative image about a certain scenario that is being addressed but rather present the audience with relevant information and they make the decision on their own. As the free will of an audience is not coerced or influenced by the speakers stand, the informative speech should be void of any personal opinion as this will present a biased approach of the informative speech. For this reason, the student should stick to the topic and mission of the informative speech without deviating from the original objective which had been set prior to compiling the informative speech. The content of the informative speech should be relevant and reliable such that prior preparations have to be conducted before presenting the speech. The validity of information and content is essential as it would be difficult to persuade the audience to change their perception towards certain issues in their daily lives yet fail to provide solid evidence on the same. The weight of the informative speech lies in the fact that the student has to furnish the facts and existing theories with supporting details that are highly valid and true. False concepts and evidence not only lowers the quality of the informative speech but they also reduce the speaker's credibility on the issue he/she is handling. Incompetence arises in such situations where queries are posed by the lecturer on certain concepts of the informative speech and the student cannot clarify or confirm the idea. Such embarrassing situations should be avoided during the preparation stages. Proofreading is another criterion that could be used to enhance competency as it presents the student with an opportunity to go through the entire informative speech and establishing a familiarizing process.
