| There has been much debate in the media recently regarding ladies who work within the escort industry. Widespread interest was sparked in the UK at least by the recent TV series ‘Secret diary of a call girl’ which starred Billie Piper. The TV show was based on the relatively unknown blog of a London escort calling herself Belle Du Jour. The blog included articles written by the escort detailing her sexploits as a London escort and has been seen as generally glamorising the escort industry. The widespread promotion of the show, which is now in its third series did indeed cause many women to think about escorting as an option and a way of earning a very high income and living the lifestyle usually only afforded to celebrities and footballers wives. The media publicity and the ensuing public debate surrounding the TV show only served to heighten interest in the industry as a whole and did see many women become escorts. Working as an escort in London does indeed have many benefits. Earnings can be anything from 1000GBP - 5000GBP per week and include frequent foreign travel – first class of course. Hours are chosen by the escort herself and she was work as little or as much as she wants. However there is of course a downside in that in order to earn this kind of money the escort must be willing to spend intimate time with gentlemen they would otherwise not have found attractive in the slightest. Safety is also an issue however most London escort agencies do provide a driver who doubles as a security man for the escort when she is travelling to appointments. The social stigma is something the potential escort will need to come to terms with. It is not a career that one tends to publicise. The possibility of being found out, recognised or even booked by someone she knows is a very real risk and something the lady should consider carefully. It is not even just personal considerations but those of their immediate family, children, husbands, parents etc and the effect a possible public ‘outing’ could have on their lives too. Despite all these possible problems, thousands upon thousands of women join the escort industry every year. There is no specific type of female particularly required, women from all walks of life and indeed all ages have become escorts for a variety of different reasons. The one thing which joins them all together however is the fact that it is an industry which, once a part of, is difficult to leave. There are no other careers which offer the amazing perks and potential earnings. Once an escort leaves the industry she will find that unless she has made financial arrangements for herself and her family her lifestyle will be very different. Gone are the designer clothes and regular first class travel. Gone are the 5 star hotels and celebrity restaurants. Gone are the 500GBP tips and generous gifts and this can be very hard for the escort to readjust.
